GS1 Singapore is a not-for-profit organisation established in 1987 to implement and administer an international article numbering system (GS1 System) in Singapore. GS1 Singapore has also being appointed by GS1 Global Office to be the sole representative of EPCglobal Inc. in Singapore and is the only organisation authorized to provide EPCglobal Services to companies in Singapore. GS1 Singapore also undertakes to promote Electronic Commerce using GS1 XML Standard which is an efficient business tool for the automatic transmission of commercial data from one computer system to another directly.

SMa Affiliate Membership for GS1 Singapore Registered Users

GS1 Singapore constantly seeks to provide value for its registered users. With this objective in mind, GS1 Singapore will be partnering the leading manufacturing association, Singapore Manufacturers’ Federation (SMa), to offer Affiliate Membership for all current GS1 Singapore Registered Users. We are pleased to inform you that SMa has extended the SMa Affiliate Membership to your company. Details of this scheme are as follows:-
 
• This scheme is offered to GS1 Singapore Registered Users who have fully settled all outstanding GS1 Singapore subscription amount and are currently not a member of SMa.
 
• As a SMa Affiliate Member, you can enjoy a host of attractive benefits, such as complimentary copies of bi-monthly CONNECT magazine and annual TradeLink Directory, complimentary admission to events, discounts and rebates for seminars and training courses offered by SMa. APEC Supply Chain Visibility Planning Meeting in Singapore

5 Feb 2010 - The meeting with METI Officials held at GS1 Singapore office was to discuss the APEC Workshop on Supply Chain Visibility to take place in November 2010 in Japan. Mr Asano Daisuke of Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Japan mentioned that on 1 March 2010, there will be the Global Supply Chain Forum in Japan.  At this Global Supply Chain Forum, the Supply Chain Visibility Working Group has been given one of the 4 sessions to make presentation on the importance of interoperability in supply chain visibility in order to facilitate world trade.  The key word for the supply chain visibility work group will be focused on interoperability of the supply chain solutions.

Helping your company develop export strength to penetrate and export to overseas markets

International Enterprise (IE) Singapore and Singapore Manufacturers’ Federation (SMa) is organizing a seminar for GS1 members on the Exporter Development Programme (EDP). This Programme developed by IE Singapore is to help small and medium sized enterprises develop their export strength. IE Singapore supports 70% of costs to equip your company with a sustained and systematic approach in exporting.   

To date, about 60 companies have participated in the EDP to build up and enhance their export capabilities. Whether you are planning to start exporting or if you are already an experienced exporter, you are welcome to come hear how the EDP can help your company.

Certificate in Cold Chain Management of Vegetables Training Course (MARCH 2010)

 

We are pleased to update you that the 2nd and 3rd batch of Certificate in Cold Chain Management Course for Vegetables will be scheduled during March 2010 (Modules 1 to 8).  In collaboration with Singapore Cold Chain Centre together with Food Innovation & Resource CentreSingapore Polytechnic, this training course is funded by WDA and endorsed by AVA and SPRING Singapore, and will be conducted at Singapore Polytechnic. Please note the course dates as scheduled below in respectively languages:-

2) 09 March 2010 to 12 March 2010 (Mandarin)

CICC Meeting on AIDC, RFID and MobileCom

16 December 2009 - GS1 Singapore successfully hosted the CICC Meeting on AIDC, RFID and MobileCom at SPRING Singapore Building. We have representatives from Ministry of Health, SingHealth National Library Board, HSA, NEC Asia, JMS Singapore, NHG HQ, NHG Pharmacy and Integrated Health Information Systems attended this meeting.
